And So It Begins

While browsing craigslist one day, I stumbled upon this glorious piece of crap. I knew I had to have it. And I knew I had to turn it into a lemons car.

This is the original craigslist ad that started the whole thing.

So I called a friend, we went and looked at it the next day, and thought, “What could possibly go wrong?” We talked the guy down on the price, boxed up all the parts, and towed that beauty home the next day. And so it begins …

Hey, your engine looks toasted, don’t waste your time on that engine, my god it is in bad shape.

Actually, it’s mostly in good shape. Just a few parts that didn’t survive. The case is the only big thing we needed to replace. Everything else actually cleaned up pretty good. Well, lemons good anyway.

Getting there, slowly but surely. Took the engine apart and put in new rings, seals and gaskets. Had to put all the old parts in a new crankcase, looks like the saltwater got to it. I’ve been bad about updating the blog, but I’ll get to it this week I hope.
